The School of Library and Information Science was established in the Year 1993 with the aim of training the students in the science and technology behind establishing and managing the modern library. School of Library and Information Science envisions to produce highly competent top-class Library professional, who are not only professionally competent but also are environmentally and socially conscious and having good moral and ethical values to serve the society. The School operates literally on a rock-solid Central library, which currently holds 283083 titles. The Staff of Central library ensures smooth operations and imparts the requisite training via a theoretical-cum-practical oriented training to the students enrolled in the undergraduate and post-graduate program. This conglomeration of existence ensures adherence to quality standards and helps achieve the stated objective of producing professionally trained librarians.

The School employs highly trained (NET/Ph.D.) teachers to impart quality education to the students. The curriculum is regularly update and is brought up to the mark with changing scenario. These revisions have enabled the incorporation of ICT, Digitization, and other modern iterations in library science. The curriculum in its current state is aligned with the NEP-2020 guidelines and strives to incorporate the cutting-edge technology incorporation in the syllabus. The school boasts on its alumni being part of most modern libraries in the central India. The recent selection of students in TCS is a testament of our commitment to quality. The students are encouraged to undertake hand-on training during the course to strengthen their skill-base.
