School of Instrumentation (INST)
The University established the School of Instrumentation as its University Teaching Department (UTD) in 1991 with an objective to offer academic and research programs in instrumentation and allied areas. Formerly it has been known as University Science and Instrumentation Centre level-II. The School has evolved into a dynamic hub for cutting-edge academic programs. It offers a five-year Integrated Dual Degree (B.Tech. + M.Tech.) in Internet of Things (IoT), two-year M.Tech. programs in Instrumentation and IoT, and Ph.D. programs in Instrumentation and related fields. All programs offered by the School are AICTE-approved, ensuring high standards of academic rigor and industry relevance. The School’s academic programs are meticulously designed to cultivate forward-thinking experts in automation, process control, and device fabrication. Students are mentored by distinguished faculty and industry professionals with extensive experience in solving complex engineering challenges.
The School boasts state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with advanced tools and simulation platforms, allowing students to translate classroom knowledge into real-world solutions. These facilities support research in areas such as sensor technology, smart systems, and IoT-driven automation, preparing graduates to address modern industrial demands. By combining rigorous academics with practical experience, the School of Instrumentation empowers students to become leaders in the rapidly evolving fields of automation and IoT, contributing to technological advancements globally.
Presently, the school has long lasting research collaborations with different institutions of Dept. of Atomic Energy in India, Indian institutes as well as in different universities of Germany, Italy and USA.
