School of Law, one of the flagship teaching departments of Devi Ahilya University, was established in the year 1998. It is a premier institute in the field of Law education, with the sole aim of preparing students for a challenging and demanding career in the noble profession of Law. The institute strives to inculcate interdisciplinary approach and provide a backdrop of social sciences along with strong professional know-how. The department initially offered a 5 yr. B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) integrated program that is one of the high-demand programs offered by parent university. Later, in the year 2000, it started offering LL.M. 2 yr. program, which is presently offered with “Business Law” specialization. In the same year, the department Also acquired the status of a Research Centre in Law, thereby started offering Ph. D. (Law) and M.Phil. (Law) programs. After the dis-continuance of M.Phil. program by UGC in the year 20-21, the department presently offers 3 programs including 5 yr. B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) integrated program, LL.M. (Business Law) 2 yr. program, and Ph. D. (Law). Over a small period of around 27 years, the department has produced notable alumni, who are serving different sections of society, including Judiciary, Administration, Advocacy, Corporates, etc.

CS Dr. Manish Sitlani is currently serving as the Head of the Department of School of Law at the Takshashila Campus, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore. With around 30 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Sitlani has been actively contributing to the advancement of Humanities education, including Law. He holds a Ph.D. in Taxation area from Devi Ahilya University and has guided several postgraduate and doctoral research scholars. His areas of specialization include Corporate Finance, Corporate Laws and Accounting.

School of law, DAVV continues to nurture budding Law Professionals to excel in academics, research, and industry, contributing to growth of Law and Judiciary at regional, national, and global levels.
