Dr. Meeta Jain is currently serving as the Head of the School of Biochemistry, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore. The School is one of the oldest and renowned departments of the University, which was established in 1984. There are two lecture halls, one seminar hall and six well equipped laboratories in the School. In addition to the curriculum, the School is dedicated to inculcate spirits among students for the development of the nation.

With more than 30 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Meeta Jain has been actively contributing to the advancement of Biochemistry education and innovation in emerging scientific and technical knowledge. She holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from DAVV, Indore and has guided several postgraduate and doctoral research scholars. Her areas of specialization include Plant Biochemistry, Toxicology, Magnetobiology, Nitric Oxide signalling, Nanopriming, Abiotic stress and UV-B stress physiology.

Dr. Meeta Jain has published more than 70 research papers and review articles in reputed international journals and conferences, and has authored 10 book chapters.Research projects has been sanctioned to her from UGC, DST, MPCST etc.

Under her leadership, the department has strengthened its academic quality, introduced industry-aligned electives, and collaborated with leading organizations for research, training, and placement. Dr. Meeta Jain firmly believes in fostering an environment that encourages innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and practical problem-solving among students.

As an academic leader, Dr. Meeta Jain is affiliated with professional bodies such as, ISCA, SBC, ISCA, ISAB, FWRA etc. and has served on various national-level committees, boards of studies, executive member and accreditation panels. She has also received recognition for contributions in the field of research achievements.

Through her vision and dedication, the School of Biochemistry, DAVV continues to nurture young biochemists to excel in academics, research, and industry, contributing to scientific growth at regional, national, and global levels.
