Directorate of Physical Education & Sports The Directorate of Physical Education & Sports is a vital and integral part of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), committed to promoting sports, recreation, wellness, and leisure activities for students, faculty, and staff. With a strong emphasis on holistic development, the department provides opportunities for physical fitness, competitive sports, and overall well-being.

Currently, the department organizes and manages 35 sports disciplines for men and 33 for women at both the Inter-Collegiate and Inter-University (Zonal/All India) levels. This wide range of activities reflects DAVV’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent and encouraging active participation in physical pursuits.

The department is equipped with excellent sports infrastructure. Key facilities include an International standard Synthetic Athletics Track, a turf cricket ground, grassy football ground, floodlit volleyball courts, cemented basketball courts, and designated fields for archery, tennis, hockey, kho-kho, and kabaddi. These facilities support both training and competitive events throughout the academic year.

Additionally, the Directorate houses a well-equipped Multipurpose Gymnasium Hall, which includes dedicated space and infrastructure for badminton and gymnastics. This indoor facility ensures year-round training possibilities, regardless of weather conditions.

Through its comprehensive sports programs and infrastructure, the Directorate of Physical Education & Sports at DAVV plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the university community. It not only supports elite athletes but also promotes recreational activities, contributing to the mental and physical well-being of all stakeholders.
